Sustainability is essential in the field of tourism, as sustainable tourism seeks to minimise environmental impact while promoting economic benefits and the creation of new jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gorliz Tourist Office has been awarded the Basque Tourism Code of Ethics.

\r\nThe aim of this Code of Ethics is to establish fundamental principles for the tourism sector in the Basque Country to incorporate responsibility and sustainability in its daily work, based on respect and the promotion of mutual understanding in relation to the customer.

\r\nThe Code has been developed taking into account the \u2018Global Code of Ethics for Tourism\u2019 (UNWTO) based on the 17 sustainable development goals set out in the 2030 Agenda.

\r\nAmong the values promoted by this label are equality, inclusion and acceptance of diversity, sustainability, support for local culture and traditions, and respect for human rights.
