GORLIZ: QUEER DESTINATION
The Tourist Office of Gorliz has obtained the “Queer Destinations Committed” certificate, a badge recognized by the IGLTA (International LGBTQ Tourism Association), which guarantees and ensures that all travellers feel welcome and understood, regardless of their sexual orientation, identity or gender expression.
Gorliz is part of the Smart Tourist Destinations Network (DTI) of the Uribe region. The aim of this programme is to improve the competitiveness of tourist destinations by focusing on five areas of action: governance, innovation, technology, sustainability and accessibility, and for this reason we do not hesitate to participate in the educational program of awareness of Queer Destinations.
The Gorliz Tourist Office through the online educational program “Hospitality meets diversity”, which incorporates up-to-date statistical data, interviews and practical case studies has received training training training of 100%. By receiving specific training, not only is the service improved, but also an environment of respect and freedom is created, providing the best possible experience for queer travelers.
Gorliz adheres to the zero tolerance policy towards any form of harassment, intimidation, taunting, threats or any other attitude of physical or psychological violence directed at LGBTQ+ people. In addition, we are dedicated to fostering a safe and welcoming environment for all.
“Gorliz Turismo” guarantees a visitor’s attention sensitized with the Queer collective and is committed to ensuring that the products and services generated by the tourist office are inclusive, equitable and respectful not only for all visitors. All persons deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation.
The Queer Destinations certificate is an important step in promoting diversity and inclusion and in ensuring that all visitors feel welcome, valued and comfortable.
