Gorliz enjoys a microclimate, being the sunniest town in Bizkaia. With approximately 842 meters of extension, the beach of Gorliz is one of the most extensive beaches of Bizkaia. It also has the advantage of being protected by the bay in the shape of a shell that makes this beach one of the safest and most spectacular of the Basque coast.
Curiosities and nature: The beach is surrounded by protected dunes and pine forests, offering a unique environment for walks and photography. In spring, migratory birds can be observed in the nearby marsh areas.
History and heritage: Close to the beach, remnants of ancient coastal settlements and old defensive bunkers can be found.
On this beach you will find a wide range of water sports and, being so close to the centre of Gorliz, you will be able to go up to visit it and have a drink in its pleasant bars or shops.
Sports and leisure: Besides standard water sports, the beach is ideal for kitesurfing and paddleboarding due to moderate waves. Picnic areas and trails connect the beach with Gorliz Lighthouse and Mount Ermua.
Family tips: Natural shade from pine trees allows for a comfortable day without umbrellas. The fine sand makes it safe and fun for children to play and build sandcastles.

OTA
The regulated parking service is now active in Gorliz for the summer season.
Operating hours:
From June 13th to September 15th: daily, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
From June 6th–7th and September 19th–October 11th: weekends and public holidays, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The OTA includes different parking zones (red, blue, green, orange and pink), each with its own conditions and rates.
Tickets can be purchased at parking meters or via the Mowiz mobile app.

ASSITED BATHING
The Provincial Council of Bizkaia offers an assisted bathing service on eight beaches in Bizkaia, including Gorliz beach. The aim is that all users, including those with limited mobility and personal autonomy, can enjoy bathing in the sea.
TOILET FACILITIES
The beach belongs to everyone!
The beach of Gorliz has a ramp and public services open during the summer season.
That is why the 3 bathrooms located on the beach are accessible. The one located in the middle of the beach stays open all year for the enjoyment of visitors, while the other 2 open their facilities during the beach season (Between 1st of June and 30 of September from 09:00 to 21:00h).
