Dastatuarte 2018

DastatuArte July 6, 7 and 8

We are happy to present you the first edition of Dastatuarte. This event will be held on 6, 7 and 8 July, offering plenty of workshops and performances for children and adults to enjoy.

Dastatuarte resulted from the union of two events previously organised in Gorliz: Dastatu and Umore Gauak. The first one, about gastronomy, and the second one with artistic performances.
This year we have merged the best things of both to create a Food & Art Festival, full of gastronomic and artistic activities to delight the palates of those present.

The festival starts with a little presentation, a “pintxo” tasting session with all the “pintxos” taking part in the contest, a welcome glass of wine offered by Vinos Mendia and live performances. These first activities will be held in the “Bizi karpa”, located in the church square.

Most of the activities are organised in “spaces” or “Korner”s around the village. These Korners are easy to find, as they are marked with a yellow carpet on the floor, just as indicated in the festival’s brochure. Among others, those areas will host programmed shows, workshops (such as talo and crepe-making), wine tastings, painting exhibitions… The event will be attended by Jon Andoni Rementería, 2018 Spanish sommelier champion, who will make a txakoli tasting with 3 different varieties from Bizkaia. All the three days are filled with art and food activities while different theatrical shows are scheduled for the evenings; Ez dok hiru, Al tran tran, Ahora! Teatro Clown. You must pay for some activities and others have limited capacity. Run to Gorliz Tourist Office and sign up!

Besides, naturally, some of the restaurants in town will offer special dishes for the festival and there will be a “pintxo” contest where anyone who tries more than 3 will have the chance to win different prizes.
As you can see, we are organising an amazing weekend, worthy of Michelin star chefs! Come and taste Dastatuarte!
